Benefits

As an employer, our number one priority is our people which is why our benefits package is a cut above the rest.

Let’s get down to business and find out what’s on offer for Orbit employees.

Hybrid working

Many of our roles can support a hybrid approach helping colleagues to balance the responsibilities of work and family time. If the role allows, our colleagues can split their time between home and office making the day work for them. We want our colleagues to be productive at home and collaborative in the office, so we’ve created workspaces and invested in technology to support just that. Click here to find out more.

Annual leave

All colleagues are eligible for 27 days of annual leave per year, this increases to 28 days per annum after two years’ continuous service. In addition to your basic annual leave, you’re entitled to all Bank Holidays and an ‘Orbit Day’ (which usually occurs on the first working day after Boxing Day, depending on your working pattern). You can also buy or sell up to five extra days every year if you choose to, giving you even more flexibility.

Flexible benefits

Our Flexible Benefits give colleagues the ability to choose benefits that suit their lifestyle we offer access to:

  • Gymflex
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Dining Card
  • The option to buy and sell annual leave
  • A healthcare cash plan
  • Dental Insurance
  • Annual Health Assessment

In addition, all colleagues are eligible for employer matched pension contributions up to 8%, now is the perfect time to save for your retirement.

Discretionary bonus

All colleagues, in permanent positions, are eligible to participate in a non-contractual, discretionary incentive plan.  This is for up to 15% of your annual salary and is dependent upon three elements: company performance, team performance and personal performance.  Employees must be in post on or before 1 October of that year, to qualify for the current performance year incentive plan.  Further detail of the scheme is set out in the incentive plan rules that we issue each year to colleagues.

Private Medical scheme and Digital GP

All employees can join our funded Private Medical scheme, it covers the costs of tests and treatment, and allows your GP to quickly refer you to the most appropriate specialist to help you get back to full health.

If you’re struggling for time, or you can’t get an appointment with your GP, then you can use our Digital GP app which gives you 24/7 access to unlimited GP video consultations, with an NHS-registered private GP.

Family life

Orbit offers enhanced paid parental leave including time off for emergencies, the potential for part-time, compressed hours and hybrid working options.

Supporting your wellbeing

We’ve created an environment to help our colleagues thrive as we know that not every day will be your best day. We have a wellbeing framework in place for the days you may need additional support including a team of trained Mental Health First Aiders and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme giving all colleagues access to 12 therapy sessions.

Throughout the year, we host regular webinars where we share real experiences across challenging topics. We also run awareness campaigns, sharing tips and tricks to support your wellbeing which focus on our three pillars: myHealth, myMind and myMoney.

This is a map of our wellbeing journey going from 'i'm thriving' to 'i'm struggling' and how it is dealt with from Mental Health first aiders to Line Manager support.

Helping others

All colleagues can claim up to eight hours volunteering each year. We provide opportunities to take those within our own communities or for colleagues to use for a cause they feel passionate about.
