Orbit is a fantastic business and one that’s really going places.
Orbit was formed in 1967 with the aim of providing good-quality housing for people who would otherwise not be able to afford to buy their own home.
Over 50 years later, we’re one of the leading housing providers in the UK. Our services have diversified, our housing portfolio has expanded, and our reputation as an innovator within our sector has grown. But one thing that has never changed. Our belief in people and what they can achieve.
Your role at Orbit.
With an established track record delivering over 10,000 homes to date and ambition to build a further 8,000 new homes before 2025, Orbit is one of the country’s major housing developers. We also have an exciting strategic partnership with Homes England to deliver, with a funding package of some £129 million.
We are recruiting a Senior Site Manager (known as New Build Project Manager internally) for a new development in our eastern region. The development will deliver 63 affordable homes comprising of 38 shared ownership and 25 rented properties.
Your remit will be to ensure the construction of a quality product with health & safety, cost effectiveness and timely delivery being key deliverables. You will manage Orbit Homes employees and aid in their training, supervise and co-ordinate sub-contractors, materials, infrastructure and utility providers in accordance with the construction programme.
You will ensure that all work is scheduled to meet production targets and ensure that a high quality product is achieved. You will partner our technical and commercial divisions and ensure that records of site activities, drawings, risk assessments and method statements are retained so that as a business we can continue to be innovative and implement effective cost and quality controls for future developments.
What will help you make a difference.
You will be a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager with a wealth of experience in residential housing construction. You will be a positive leader and engage in-house and external teams to work collaboratively in delivering quality homes.
You will be committed to continuous improvement especially in health and safety, delivering time and cost effective efficiencies and new technologies.
You will possess a CSCS Managers card, SMSTS and first aid. It would be beneficial to have additional tickets including banksman and scaffold inspection/safety.
