Your role at Orbit.
With an established track record delivering over 10,000 homes to date and ambition to build a further 8,000 new homes before 2025, Orbit is one of the country’s major housing developers. We also have an exciting strategic partnership with Homes England to deliver, with a funding package of some £129 million.
We are recruiting a Regional Construction Manager (known internally as Regional Operations Manager) who will play a vital role in achieving our commitment to deliver good quality affordable homes across the Midlands. You will support the Construction Director to ensure the safe planning and execution of direct build and contracted activities on our developments to ensure that we deliver a five-star product and experience.
As our Regional Construction Manager your remit will focus on the delivery of regional group targets including pre-development operations, development programming, product delivery, customer care and health and safety.
You will set and monitor programmes and ensure that all sites are adequately resourced to enable construction to be conducted safely, economically and to programme. You will work alongside the commercial and technical teams to optimise value engineering opportunities and building in a ‘best value’ approach. You will drive performance and compliance around health and safety, ensuring good practice and commitment to continuous improvement. You will play an active part in the regional build and sales meetings and report on build progress and opportunities to facilitate realistic legal completion forecasts.
We will reward you with a base salary up to £71,950, group bonus up to 20%, car allowance, 27 days holiday plus 9 bank holidays, generous pension, private medical and much more.
What will help you make a difference.
You’ll be an expert in new homes construction with time served as a Senior Project Manager or Contracts Manager. You should possess strong programming, technical and commercial knowledge and be able to rationalise and simplify aspects of the construction delivery. You will be full conversant with building and NHBC regulations in addition to health and safety and welfare legislation.
We are looking for an individual that can demonstrate the delivery of quality homes, excellent customer satisfaction and NHBC results. You will be able to think in a strategic way and make well-reasoned judgements.
