Orbit is a fantastic business and one that’s really going places.
Orbit was formed in 1967 with the aim of providing good-quality housing for people who would otherwise not be able to afford to buy their own home.
Over 50 years later, we’re one of the leading housing providers in the UK. Our services have diversified, our housing portfolio has expanded, and our reputation as an innovator within our sector has grown. But one thing that has never changed. Our belief in people and what they can achieve.
Your role at Orbit.
At Orbit, we are known for taking a different approach to Customer Safety.
For the last five years, we have moved away from chasing the bare legal minimum and focussed on applying the principles of Plan, Do, Check, Act to everything we do. This means that our Customer Safety team is at the leading edge of best practice in the Housing Sector. Over the last 3 years, we have won more than a dozen national awards, including being the first national Housing Provider to achieve the combination of holding the RoSPA Gold award for Customer Safety and BS9997 accredited. Our team structure “moves the boundary of what should be good practice” according to the National Housing Management Forum.

The postholder will build and manage internal and external relationships including procurement consortia, consultants, contractors, statutory authorities and other public bodies through which we deliver services, in order to drive H&S culture across Orbit Group and its partners. You will review resilience and risk factors to ensure our building safety processes are robust and continuously improving and report on overall on developments, progress and opportunities relating to our own building safety projects.
What will help you make a difference.
You will be educated to degree level in a property related subject, alternatively hold a relevant professional qualification or be able to demonstrate extensive experience and knowledge in a relevant role.
