Orbit is a fantastic business and one that’s really going places.
Orbit was formed in 1967 with the aim of providing good-quality housing for people who would otherwise not be able to afford to buy their own home.
Over 50 years later, we’re one of the leading housing providers in the UK. Our services have diversified, our housing portfolio has expanded, and our reputation as an innovator within our sector has grown. But one thing that has never changed. Our belief in people and what they can achieve.
Your role at Orbit.
With an established track record delivering over 10,000 homes to date and ambition to build a further 8,000 new homes before 2025, Orbit is one of the country’s major housing developers. We also have an exciting strategic partnership with Homes England to deliver, with a funding package of some £129 million.
We are recruiting an Assistant Site Manager for a new development in Enstone.
As one of our Assistant Site Manager’s you’ll oversee the installation of roads and essential utilities whilst supervising an army of trade experts, ensuring that quality, health and safety, welfare and wellbeing are of the highest standards to achieve development completion on time and within budget.
You will supervise all direct labour and coordinate the activities of all the trades and disciplines involved to achieve the construction programmes and ensure the cost and quality standards. You will ensure that all work is kept on programme and that all details as specified in the drawings and instructions are adhered to.
In conjunction with the Site Manager you will coordinate and control the sub-contractors, provide appropriate information and handle any problems as they arise. You’ll be a key figure in the health and safety requirements of the site. This will include risk assessments and method statements and appropriate completion of accident records.
What will help you make a difference.
You’ll be an Assistant Site Manager or in a junior management role with experience of construction trades and supervision of trades people and sub-contractors ideally within the residential sector.
You’ll be experienced in scheduling and calling off material orders, programming the works, snagging and liaising with sales.
You will possess current SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid/Health and Safety training.
