Your role at Orbit.

New role working within our Empty Homes and Lettings team. We are looking for a customer focused individual to work within this team to support and make decision on allocating and offering properties. You will work with internal and external teams to ensure affordability and ‘rent first’ culture is key to decision making.

You will gain information from a range of sources, interviews with the customer, data from 3rd parties and other internal teams. Communication and time management skills will be key.

You will work to ensure effective lets are made, tenants can sustain their tenancies and reduce risk to the business.

What will help you make a difference.

  • Excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in England and Mathematics.
  • IT literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience of carrying out customer assessments
  • Good understanding of multi-agency work, mental health awareness, substance misuse, welfare benefits advice, vulnerabilities and or support needs
  • Ability to carry out a dynamic interview technique
  • Flexible team colleague with a focus on team task approach to meet the needs of the customer and organisation
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage high volumes of work
  • Commitment and understanding of how to deliver excellent customer service
  • Previous experience in a customer service / housing environment.
