Your role at Orbit.

We are looking to increase headcount within our Area Inspector team. Working across repairs, and voids, the team work in a proactive manner to ensure all works are done at pace to support customer need.

We are looking for customer focused individuals to support this service. You will review properties, set schedule of works and repair, monitor progress, and ensure a prompt turnaround. You will work to ensure effective relationships with maintenance teams, ensuring cost and spend are monitored.

You will need to support the Area Manager to ensure business objectives are met and contractor relationships are well managed.

What will help you make a difference.

  • Experience in a building surveying or similar capacity - Experience of construction, maintenance, and repairs improvement programmes.
  • Relevant qualifications in building (Ordinary or Higher National Certificate) desirable
  • Repairs / maintenance experience ideally with a social housing setting
  • Commercial decision making skills to ensure all relevant repairs are done
  • Good understanding of asset management and property maintenance
  • Experience of providing accurate schedules and details of work
  • Ability to assess quotations for Minor Works for value for money and make recommendations for appointment of contractors
  • Willing and able to participate in the out of hours emergency roster
  • Flexibility to be able to travel within a base region – own transport essential
